Type, Strategy, and Authority
A plain-language guide to three of the first Human Design concepts people usually see in a chart.
Type
Type is a broad Human Design category derived from the chart's defined centers and connections. It is often used as an entry point for learning the system. A Type label is not a clinical classification and should not be used to judge competence, intelligence, health, or personal worth.
Strategy
Strategy is the decision and interaction guideline traditionally associated with a Type in Human Design. Interpretations describe that traditional framework; they do not guarantee an outcome or replace practical judgment about a situation.
Authority
Authority is the chart concept used in Human Design to describe a preferred internal decision process. The platform shows the Authority calculated by the engine and explains the related terminology. High-stakes decisions should still use appropriate professional information and your own judgment.
